We are pleased to annouce Get Active with Amnesty 2013, the 2nd Annual Saskatchewan Regional Conference.
Get Active with Amnesty will be held in Moose Jaw on October 19th, 9:30 am- 5:30 pm.
The goals of Get Active with Amnesty are to provide opportunities for Amnesty International and community members to learn about current human rights issues, build their skills as activists, and get more involved and active with Amnesty International. Whether you are a long-time Amnesty supporter or are just beginning to get interested in human rights issues, this event is for you!
The Keynote Speaker will be Alex Neve, Secretary General of Amnesty International Canada (ES).
Workshops and presentation topics will include activist training, organizing in Saskatchewan, diversity, a regional overview of the world’s human rights, Colombia, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, women’s human rights, the right to food and Write for Rights. (As the event is still in the planning phase, changes additions to workshop topics may take place- be sure to check back for updates!)
